Product description

Austenitic stainless steel. This is the cast version of the standard 304 grade. Compared to standard 304, some minor additions have been made to make it more castable. Compared to AISI 1.4301, the addition of molybdenum has improved corrosion resistance, particularly in chloride-containing environments. By reducing the carbon percentage (316L/1.4404) compared to the basic grade 1.4401 (316), this grade is less susceptible to intergranular corrosion after welding. This grade is easily formable, easily polishable, and has good corrosion resistance and toughness properties. Machinability is moderate to poor. 1.4404 grade is used in the food and dairy industries, as well as in maritime environments, swimming pools, and architecture.
