Product description

RVS 1.4404 (316L) UNP laser welded is an austenitic stainless steel that offers improved corrosion resistance compared to type 1.4301, thanks to the addition of molybdenum. This provides extra protection, especially in chloride-containing environments. By lowering the carbon content compared to the base type 1.4401 (316), the 316L/1.4404 grade is less susceptible to intergranular corrosion after welding. The material is easily formable, polishable, and combines high corrosion resistance with excellent toughness. Machinability is moderate to poor. RVS 1.4404 is widely used in the food and dairy industry, as well as in marine environments, swimming pools, and architectural applications.
